Honoring Katherine Johnson a Nod to Glenn

If I were hanging out on aboard the International Space Station, I would be delighted to see the picture-perfect launch of the Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus capsule, called the S.S. Katherine Johnson. This is the 15^th contracted cargo resupply mission for NASA to the ISS, which passed over the area just 10 minutes prior to liftoff! The 8,000-pound payload includes supplies for the crew, hardware and materials for science and research. The rocket lifted skyward from Pad-0A at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, 59 years to the day – February 20, 1962 – when John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth.
